Renewing Our Community
The time has come for us at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church to materialize our long-term vision for our parish.
Building on the legacy of our visionary founders, with a growing community and a beautiful Byzantine-style church, we are ready to expand and renovate our Damianos Peters Parish Center. The building has served us well since its inception in 1986. While half of the building housed our first dedicated church space, the other half has been our central gathering area for celebrations, fund-raisers and coffee hour as well as produced some amazing dishes for the Mid-Cities Greek FoodFest..
With thanksgiving for our beautiful orthodox temple, it is time now to address the other needs of our parish. The purpose of this renovation is not just the expansion of a building made of brick and mortar, but, more importantly, it is about the renewal of our community. This is why we have named our project just that: Renewing our Community. In the renovated space of the Damianos Parish Centerenter we will be able to extend hospitality to more people, better educate our community, form juniors to seniors, and we’ll have better facilities to reach out to the greater community around us.
The Renewing Our Community campaign kicks off this summer. With a projected cost of roughly $1 million, we are eager to get started and strengthen our commitment to the community of St. John’s.
You, too, can be part of our future. Join us in our efforts to renovate our Parish Center and jumpstart the renewal of our community.
